Take a little break from everyday life and immerse yourself in the peaceful world of ceramics and matcha.

In this workshop, you’ll combine the calming process of working with clay with the mindful preparation and tasting of matcha. You’ll shape your own Chawan from clay – the traditional Japanese tea bowl. It’s not about perfection, but about trying things out, experimenting, and creating something unique with your own hands.

Your Matcha Experience

Together with our course instructor Linh, you’ll discover the world of matcha. You’ll learn more about its history and unique qualities and taste high-quality matcha from Oku.

Your Own Chawan

Then it’s time to get creative. With guidance from Eveline and Ismene, you’ll shape your own Chawan. You can choose from three different types of clay, giving your bowl its own unique texture and character.

After the workshop, we’ll glaze your ceramic piece with a transparent glaze and fire it twice for you. In the end, you’ll hold your own handmade creation in your hands – and take home new impressions from the world of matcha.

WHO IT’S FOR

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels. It is open to adults aged 18 and over and offers a maximum of 6 places, ensuring a personal and relaxed atmosphere.

The workshop is held in German.
The workshop takes place with a minimum of 4 participants.
Your piece will be ready for collection at studio106 in approximately 4–5 weeks.
