GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Registration and participation requirements for courses at studio106

By submitting a binding written registration by email or via the registration form, a place on the course is reserved and participants agree to these Terms and Conditions. No later than one week before the course begins, studio106 will send participants a confirmation of registration and the course invoice by email.

Places may not be transferred to third parties. Missed lessons cannot be made up. Course registrations are processed in the order in which they are received. The course fee must be paid by the due date or, at the latest, on the day the course begins.

Anyone making a booking for additional participants is responsible for the full payment and collection of their works.

Workshops and Courses

studio106 reserves the right to reschedule courses if this becomes necessary for organisational reasons. If a course cannot take place, participants will be informed no later than 7 days before the course begins.

If the course instructor is unable to attend, the course will be led by a substitute instructor. If this is not possible, an alternative date will be offered or the course fee will be refunded in full.

Course Cancellations and Rescheduling

Registration constitutes a binding commitment to participate. Cancellations must be submitted to studio106 in writing no later than 7 days before the course begins.

In the event of a later cancellation or non-attendance on the day of the course, the full course fee will be charged.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. studio106 accepts no liability for lost or stolen gift vouchers.

Liability

studio106 excludes all liability in connection with organised courses, workshops, and events. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate insurance coverage.

Use of the premises, equipment, and materials is at the participant’s own risk. Participants are responsible for informing themselves about any potential risks before use and for ensuring their own safety.

In the event of negligence, participants are liable for any damage caused to machines and equipment.

Warranty and Liability

No guarantee is given for the final result of works created as part of courses or Open Studio sessions at studio106.

Ceramic processes such as drying, glazing, and firing may result in cracks, breakage, deformation, or variations in colour. These risks are inherent to the materials and processes involved. Claims for compensation, repairs, repetition of courses, or refunds are excluded.

Additional Studio Time 

There is no entitlement to additional studio time or further appointments for completing unfinished work.

Liability for Work Results

There is no entitlement to a finished object if no completed piece is created during the course or Open Studio session, or if work remains incomplete due to the participant’s own actions or omissions.

Liability in the Event of Accident or Illness
Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage. studio106 accepts no liability for accidents or illness.

Liability for Theft
studio106 accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal belongings. Participants are responsible for keeping their valuables safe.

Use and Safety Guidelines

  • Mixing glazes is only permitted in consultation with studio106.

  • The kiln may only be operated by studio106 course instructors.

  • studio106 reserves the right not to fire pieces if the glazes have not been applied correctly.

  • Placing objects on top of the kiln is strictly prohibited. Any damage to the kiln caused by incorrectly placed objects or improperly applied glazes will be charged to the participant.

  • Participants are required to clean used work surfaces and floors of clay and glaze residue in order to minimise fine dust and contribute to everyone's health and safety.

  • Smoking is not permitted at studio106.

  • Children under the age of 16 may only enter studio106 when accompanied by an adult, unless participating in a special children's course.

Prices

Current prices are published on the website. studio106 reserves the right to adjust prices when necessary. Open Studio members will be informed at least 14 days before any price adjustment.

studio106 reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes take effect upon publication of the new version on the website without prior notice.
